13AD Reunion Concert in Calicut Jan 2008
 13AD rocked Calicut and how!
The show started sharp at 7pm, unlike the usual shows. AUM opened fpr 13AD. This young band from Trivandrum, comprising of 4 youngsters in their 20's have it in them to go places. They rocked teh crowd for a solid hour,warming them up for 13AD. The songs they played were Dream On (aerosmith), Aeroplane(RHCP), Ocean of hype(AUM original), Burn(deep purple) etc. Special mention must be made of the bare bodied vocalist Manu, who won a lot of hearts. Not to take anything away from, Preeth, the lead guitars, Balu, the bassist and Shinu, the drummer. Keep track of this band, they could be the best in India soon!
At 8 sharp 13AD got on stage. They opened with Fire in the basement(deep purple), went on to sing Buffalo Soldier(bob marley), Black Magic Woman(Santana), sultans of swing (dire straits), Ground Zero (13AD), Revelation (13AD), City Blues (13AD), Bed of Roses (Bon Jovi), Jesus is just all right(Doobie Brothers), I shot the Sheriff (Bob Marley), Wall (Floyd), How Long(Eagles), Walk this way(aerosmith), Love of my life (santana), Get over it(eagles), Rock n Roll(Led Zep), Sweet Child of Mine(GNR), Rosanna(Toto), Peace of Mind(13AD), Oye Mi Canto(Miami Sound Machine), After Midnight(Cale), Sultans of Swing(Dire straits), Smoke on the water(Deep Purple) Mustang Sally etc. 24 songs in all!
The most amazing aspect of the show was the scintillating fretboard work by Eloy Issacs. He showed us again why he is called "Magic Fingers" and was once rated as the best lead guitarist in India. His guitar playing is a treat to watch. The way he closes his eyes, throws back his head n just lets rip! He still is the best guitarist in India, and like Georgie said, the Pride Of India! One also has to bow one's head in awe and respect to Pinson Correa, the oldest rock drummer in India and probably the world. His virtuoso performance on Black Magic Woman had to be seen to be beleived. Pauly showed us what bass guitaring is all about on his 6 string bass, during his bass solo. Stanley, the first ever vocalist did duty on 6 songs including the song How Long from the latest album by Eagles.. Petro Correa,Pinson's brother, founder member and the man who named 13AD, did some power drumming on a few songs. George Peter proved once again that he is a performer unparallelled. His showman ship, his range and his versatile skills on the guitar, the keyboard and the congo drums. Jackson was his usual unflappable self on the keyboards and it was no wonder to learn that he is the most sought after keyman in the kerala music studio circuit. 
What amazed one and all was the tightness of the band, coming together after a lay off of 13 years. the band could stop and start at the drop of a hat. The sound and lights by Reynolds, Bangalore, were mesmerizing. The sound engineer, Michael Furtado deserves special mention.
The crowd that came in deserves a special applause for being well-mannered and orderly. there was never a problem and one could find many a woman/girl right up front among the crowd. There were a lot of people from Trichur, Cochin,Bangalore etc. Some had comefrom as far as Goa, Delhi etc.
A truly inspiring performance. None of the current bands in India canhold a candle to 13AD when it comes to musical performance.
