After the storm - DK

It was just any other day the raindrops sang its lonely tune

The silvery clouds had turned into a deadly dark hue

Nobody cared and nobody listened

The pretty young girl was yet to be christened

When the storm broke out she lost all that she’d got

The water took away her home, her dreams she had not

Trying to save them all her papa went down without her

She clutched on to his round golden ring

“Hold on to your dreams don’t wake up at night

Don’t let it go away with the break of light

As the clouds sail away a new day will dawn

The leaves always turn green after the storm”

When they awoke she had picked up and gone far away

Steady and strong ready to learn the tricks of the trade

She grew quite fast she no longer hard need try

Passport to heaven she was on the freeway oh my

When lasting pleasures withhold secrets to the stars

When romance slings your world out of hand

The whispering moon cries out in vain

She no longer could really remember his name

“Baby hold onto your dreams don’t wake up at night

Let the sunshine brighten your door, open it wide

Your heartbeat had missed a few seconds from his reach

After the storm the swift winds do subside.”

The lingering stars show her another way

She had forgotten to cry, she no longer wanted to anyway

She gently stretched herself moved to her side

She let the storm pass through her she felt peace inside

“Baby why did you dream on why did you try

You should have let yourself go you would not have had to cry

Prepare yourself for the dawn the storm had long since been gone

Another day yes just another day after the storm….”
