Nationwide rock competition for semi-professional bands in Calicut.

As a starter to this we stated the paperwork on a South India Rock Competition. This was done way back in 1995. We even had confirmations from Moksha (can u believe it?!!), Chennai, Karizma, Trivandrum, Lucid Dreams, Bangalore etc. And during the sponsorship hunt, we received a letter from an agency in Kolkatta (Smilestone), who said that they had a sponsor ready provided we did the program in Bangalore. We agreed and the venue and things were fixed for Bangalore and then after everything was finalized, they backed out unceremoniously, without even a word. That was a big let down. We still hope to do it some day.

Managing a rock band.

There are so few real managers out here in India. Ofcourse, there are a few exceptions like Vijay Nair who, manages Pentagram. But on the whole, the concept of touring to promote and support a new album, playing the college circuit, the hotel circuit, there is so much more that can be done. We have traded ideas with Seven, Renegades and Motherjane. Lets hope that the bands see light soon.

Monthly musical get togethers

Its basically a family scene. We get some 50 people together with dinner and stuff. We have karaoke sessions and mehfils wherein either the members sing or a guest artist performs.

An annual rock show for Calicut

Barring a few years here and there, we have pretty much made this a reality. You see, in a place like Calicut with no industries or big time sponsors its so tough to do a show. We have been able to do it in 92, 93, 94, 95, 97 and 2002.
