Dear Lakeshore family and friends of the less fortunate,

Today, there are so many people in our world who are facing a critical food shortage and the results are devastating. According to data from the United Nations, every single day nearly 25,000 people die from hunger and related causes, including more than 10,000 children. Approximately 850 million people worldwide are estimated to be undernourished, and higher food prices threaten to increase it by another 100 million. Think of that. We are fast approaching one billion people in our world who do not have enough food to eat.

While no one person or organization can fully solve this problem alone, at Lakeshore Community Church we are working to do our part to combat this hunger crisis through Making Waves 2024. Since 2011, we have given away over $775,000 to organizations committed to helping people in physical and spiritual need through Making Waves. In total, Lakeshore has given away well over $1,300,000 since our founding in 1995, and with your help this year, we can continue to impact our world.

Our long-standing partnership with Feed My Starving Children will continue in December, along with several other ministries listed in this brochure, as we work to change the trajectory of as many lives as we can. Not just globally, but also locally, and not just for today, but also for eternity. To make this happen, we need many people who care and want to make a difference in our world to be a part of Making Waves 2024. Will that include you?

We encourage you to pray about being a generous part. Sue and I have made this a priority for our giving above and beyond our giving to support Lakeshore, and hope many others will consider doing the same.
